Finally sleeping in a nicer dorm room, god, I miss my nice hotels! Anyways, since the beginning of this trip, I've been waking up rather early and eating very little. Travelling is very very stressful especially when everyone keeps ripping you off and scamming you just because you're not from around there. I am NOT made out of gold for gods sake... just fat and I only have so much fat to burn!!!!!!!!! well it'd last me a while but whos keeping tabs anyways... So early morning, mommy calls me to tell me that she moved my money in my bank account around and since I couldnt go back to sleep (was kinda homesick) I went downstairs to grab some breakfast. Bumped into Wilson and we just made more fun of Camobodia. The night before we bumped into four other guys that we met in Siem Reap, Matt, Ryan, and etc... (I'm bad with names). Everyone stays at the same hostels everywhere... hahaa... Lub D is definitely where its at! We convinced those boys to go watch Ping Pong the night before and someone hit jackpot with the banana... BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Anyways, Curtis, Steph, and I have decided by this point that we have had enough of bullshit so we flew to Chiang Mai. Of course, we wasted time at the airport since we got there way too early and then the plane was delayed. Yes, another day wasted... but hey, we're on vacation!!! Once we got there, we got smart and found cheaper transportation to our hostel = Spicy Thai Backpackers. It definitely is a great place to meet people though I must say, I have never really stayed in something as ghetto... the beds.. oh my god.. the beds... I think I'm just too spoiled... regardless, all the people in our dorm room were super wicked and funny. We had a blast just hanging out. Since the 3 spoiled brats wanted something newer and better, our friend (Keith) from Lub D who was also in Chiang Mai told us where he was staying and that it was fairly new and central. We booked for the place and were moving there the next night. Keith met up with us at our hostel to go to the night bazaar, he was also going to take us to this restaurant but Steph wanted to try this other restaurant mentioned in the book for the special Chiang Mai dish. Yes, that was certainly a run-on sentence, but you can suck it. Anyways, we all decided we wanted to go to the night bazaar, and at first we thought it was just going to be us four and 4 other guys from Spicy Thai, it turned out the whole house came along!! That was actually pretty cool until it took forever to get everyone ready. 14 of us went altogether and we all fit into a big truck. Oh funny note, we bumped into Agent Gordy Banks (Gordon) and Christon since they were also staying at the SpicyThai. And we convinced them to move to Gong Kaew with us as well. There will be a funny story about our good ol' El-Pedocheapo later on during our Chiang Mai adventures...
Anyways, the 14 of us headed to the night bazaar, and since it was taking forever to get to the next stall cause everyone wants to see different things. We finally split off and went to do our own thing... however, when I turned around and looked, Keith was gone. We looked for him for at least 15 minutes, running up and down the blocks and finally gave up. No one knew where he was at.. oh well, I dont leave anyone behind, but nothing I can do... didnt say where he was going or what not.. and the night bazaar is HUGE! Anyhoo, the gang and I went to grab some dinner since we were starving! Had some cheap food and cheap entertainment... hahaha... then headed back to the hostel. Hung out with the rest of the people in the room for the night... decided that we'll be doing the 1-day trekking and cooking classes with Gordy Banks and Christon. Also found out that Chris was also heading up to Chiang Mai... it's going to be a gong show!!!! Best part about all of these is that we're all staying at the same place... and later on, we find out... we're all in the same dorm room!!!!!! All right, thats it for this one... more to come later when I feel like typing and when I have my little notebook with me!
The cabs of course run on Thailand time... which means, not very accurate at all. However, this time they were there 10 minutes early!! The funny thing is, they say that it takes about an hour to get to the airport, it actually only took half, if even half.... I sometimes want to beat those idiots with bad timing! We were too early to check in and then also found out that our flight was delayed so of course we just bumed around AGAIN in the airport...
